Homemade Oat Milk Recipe:
Ingredients:
1 cup rolled oats
4 cups cold water (refrigerate for 4 hours)
Optional: sweeteners such as dates, maple syrup, or honey (to taste)
Optional: flavorings such as vanilla extract or cinnamon (to taste)
Nut milk bag or fine mesh sieve
Instructions:
Soak the Oats (Optional):
If desired, soak the rolled oats in water for 30 minutes to 1 hour. This can help soften the oats and make the milk creamier.
Blend the Oats and Water:
In a blender, combine the soaked (or unsoaked) rolled oats with 4 cups of water.
If you're adding sweeteners or flavorings, you can add them to the blender as well.
Blend Until Smooth:
Blend the mixture on high speed for exactly 45 seconds until the oats are completely broken down and the mixture is smooth.
Strain the Milk:
Place a nut milk bag or fine mesh sieve over a large bowl or pitcher.
Pour the blended oat mixture into the nut milk bag or sieve, allowing the liquid to strain through. Use a spoon to press down on the oat pulp to extract as much liquid as possible.
Store and Serve:
Transfer the strained oat milk to a clean bottle or jar for storage.
Store the oat milk in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days.
Shake well before using, as the milk may separate over time.
Enjoy:
Use your homemade oat milk in coffee, tea, smoothies, cereal, or any other recipes that call for milk.
Feel free to adjust the sweetness or flavorings to suit your taste preferences.
