Building Momentum and Staying Committed

Focus: goal setting, self-monitoring, fitness accountability, fitness progress

As we step into Week Two of your journey (November 24th-30th), it’s time to build on the excitement of starting fresh. The initial motivation might feel like it’s wearing off, but this is where true growth begins. Let’s focus on keeping the momentum alive!

Health Hack: Start Your Week with a Goal Review

  • Write down your weekly intentions and goals.

  • Reflect on last week’s wins, whether it’s showing up for your scheduled exercise, eating clean, drinking enough water, or starting that book you promised yourself.

  • Pinpoint challenges you faced and create a plan to overcome them. In my case, it I don’t schedule it, it isn’t likely to happen.

Insight: Studies show that self-monitoring significantly enhances motivation. Tracking small, daily wins can often feel more rewarding than focusing solely on the long-term goal.

Engage Your Support System

Share your progress and goals with a friend or family member. Better yet, invite them to join you.
Why? Social connections not only keep you accountable but also bring encouragement when you feel like giving up. If I have committed to someone else, it’s unlikely I will bail at the last minute.

Need Encouragement?

Ask yourself why you started. Call a friend and ask them for moral support. Even 15 minutes working on your goal is progress!
